CJPL Rules
CJPL is a Hybrid League.
This means managers may choose to play their home games or have them simmed
by the Commissioner.
Teams may play their series H2H if both managers agree.
The CJPL is made up of 24 organizations consisting of a Major League Team and some protected Minor League players.
Teams' initial Minor League players were stocked using a Target RL Team. There will be no continued connection to the RL organization used.
Since there will be no ongoing connection
with a major league team Managers will select original names for their teams
The Major League Organization is composed of 2 leagues (one with DH, one without),
each with 3 divisions. Since h2h play is an option GM's wanting to play the
majority of there games h2h may be grouped by division.
These leagues will have a league championship series between division champions
and 1 Wild Card team, the winners then meeting in the CJPLWorld Series.

Game Play:
Game Series will be played Wednesday thru Sunday. Home team manager will play each weekly 5-game series. Home Team Manager has the option of hosting some or all of the games H2H providing the visiting team manager agrees and a time for game play can be worked out. Game results are due by Noon Central Time on Mondays and any games not received will be simmed by Commissioner. The updated database will be posted on the web site Monday night or sooner if all results are in. Managers have until 4:00 pm on Tuesday to submit a new MP for the next week and the Play-Ball Database will be posted that night.
Post Season Game Play
Post season series will be played H2H if
both managers wish.
If that is not posible the post season series
will be simmed by commissioner.
Team Rosters:
Major League Team rosters will be 40 players maximum. Only 25 players may be active until September 1st when rosters can be expanded to 40. Each organization will hold options on minor league players. A team may own as many minor league players as they hold Option Contracts on.
Teams may release any Major or Minor League player following the end of the season and prior to the Supplimental Drafts.
Minor League Player Option Contracts:
Each team will hold option rights to their minor league players for set number
of years. Teams retain rights until a player reaches the Major Leagues or
contract option runs out. If a player reaches the Major Leagues he must either
be placed on the team's 40-man roster or released. If a player's Option Contract
expires the team has the option to place that player on their 40-man roster
(with no stats or usage) or releasing the player.
Players acquired during the 2010 First Year
Player Draft will be signed to 5 Year Option Contracts.
Player Position & Usage:
Position players must be rated for a position
to start at that position with the exception of OF. OF's can play any OF position.
Pitchers must be rated as SP to be in starting rotation and as a RP to be
inserted there in MP.
This may not apply in certain situations such as injuries.
Player usage limits are 150% Combined usage and for batters 200% VS. LHP or
RHP based on AB's & IP's.
Once a player reaches their limit they will be farmed for the rest of the
regular season but they would then be eligible for post season.
Post Season Rosters:
Post season active rosters will be 25 players. Any player not on a team's 40 man roster as of September 1st, may be eligible for post season play ONLY IF there is an injury to someone already on a post season roster and with the following limitation: pitchers may only sub for pitchers and position players may only sub for position players.
Free Agents:
Teams may acquire free agent players at any
time during the season by sending a request to the Commissioner stating the
player requested and the player they wish to release unless the team has a
player on DL. This will be awarded on a first-come, first serve basis. Transactions
will be processed to go into effect for the next game play database. Players
acquired after September 1st are not eligible for post season play.
Injuries:
Players who are injured for 10 days or more may be placed on the DL for the length of their injuries.
Trades:
Teams may complete trades at any time during the season until September 1st. Both Major and Minor League players may be traded. Supplemental draft picks may be traded for players or other picks. First Year Player Draft picks may not be traded.
Trades are never allowed between teams controlled by the same owner unless it is part of a multi-team trade.
Drafts:
Each year Organizations will participate in a First Year Player Draft (selecting from those players drafted in the real Major League FYPD) drafting 5 players. A Supplemental Major League Player Draft will held following the release of most current DMB Season Disk to bring each teams Major League roster to 40 players
